Jim Wimberg has not only survived the Los Angeles photography scene - but actually thrived in it. Jim spent 30 years with Mercier Wimberg Photography Culver City, CA - photographing all manner of products for advertising, collateral, packaging and digital marketing. He and his business partner Mark Mercier, made the transition to digital capture in 1998. Along with providing high level photography, they also offered premium retouching as a “one stop shop” for their clients.
In 2015, Jim was recruited to establish the photography department at American International Industries - a beauty and personal care products manufacturing company in Commerce, CA. As lead photographer, Jim enjoys photographing stylized products and models for their many beauty brands.
Jim has always loved art and his passion for photography goes back to age 16 when he "borrowed" his dad's camera and drove off to shoot old collapsing barns, moody landscapes and interesting things in nature. With his current personal work, Jim likes to explore other subject matter including macro-photography, nudes and train graffiti.
“I love studying how light behaves. The challenge is to manipulate light and convey a mood that triggers an emotional response in the viewer.” – Jim Wimberg
